I will miss seeing your insights and wisdom in my feed but I understand and respect your reasoning. Thank you for continuing to share on other channels.

I tried finding you on twitter a few weeks back and wasn't showing up then, not sure when you posted the monkey pox tweet, was very difficult to find your account despite know what to search for, this search ban must have been why!

I've enjoyed your daily thoughts on twitter, will follow to this site.

It’s a bleak time for free-thinkers. Everybody’s overconscious of the guy/gal standing behind them.

Shake this off as a valuable lesson: In media, your friends are the ones who stab you in the front.

You’ve got lots more to say, and we’re all listening.

You are using a flawed tool to check if you are shadow banned. I looked up at several prominent accounts including ElonMusk using this site and the site claimed everyone is shadow banned.

Long Term Thinking's avatar

Maybe flawed but in this case the search ban is real

Multiple tools show the same thing for me, but what prompted me to check in the first place was an unexplained drop in engagement recently. Still, since the entire shadow banning process is nontransparent and there are no official tools to check, it is impossible to know for certain what is going on. What I do know is that Twitter is run in a very poor way and I'm not going to help them monetize the platform unless their policies totally change in terms of censorship as well as transparency when it comes to amplification and suppression of content.

BTW, I just checked Elon on ShadowBird and he's all green (no shadow ban).

Adi's avatar

Yea, Elon is all green now. And even your account result looks different now. :) I definitely wouldn’t trust ShadowBird site.

Interesting. Now I’m just “search suggestion banned”. Anyway, it was time to move on regardless.

Curious: How do we know the reliability of these Twitter check tools? Either way, Twitter is a double-edge sword. Useful for exposure, communicating ideas. Terrible for well being and focus. Will enjoy reading your content here and on your site.

There are other tools. This one shows a similar result. https://shadowban.yuzurisa.com/

A good clue to check is if engagement suddenly drops for no good reason. I think they should at least tell users. Seems unethical not to.

Justin Foeppel's avatar

Agreed. I think sudden changes in engagement is a better proxy. I'm not sure how reliable these tools are and wouldn't know how to figure that out. Regardless, Twitter is not operating in a way that encourages trust.

Never before seen a company with more disdain for their own customers than Twitter dot com

I feel your pain. It seems as if Twitter's employees are burning their site to the ground.

You should get a Commonstock account, no ghost bans
