I like the logic that your own investment thinking will be skewed, by the information-consumption needs of that sliver of your readers. And that the results of that skewing might be far more substantial than the revenue you derive from them:

Sorry to hear that. It takes me a while to decide if I'm going to pay for something or not, and usually that entails stopping payment for something else. But I was, in fact, just on the verge of upgrading The Rational Walk to paid. So I guess we'll see what next . . .
I know I was leaning towards upgrading to a paid version. I appreciate all your excellent analysis and eye for detail. Looking forward to seeing other projects as they unfold. Cheers!
My prior subscription offering (in 2022) had a conversion of around 4.25% but it was a $10-12/month subscription featuring in depth stock writeups. Much depends on pricing and what’s being delivered. I do think that the 5-10% figures we often read about are very optimistic at least at scale.
Really enjoy your newsletter, looking forward to see what you’ve got planned next.

Its tough out there, i think the conversion rate was good. Mine is less than half a percent.
I really don't know who came up with the benchmark of 5%, but I am yet to see someone who converted 5% of readers into paid subs at $20/month or more.
