Like most great men, he will be sorely miss. The countless lives this man affect is unknown-yet possibly over 330 million directly-given the economic contributions thru GDP gaines, taxes, insurance claims paid, jobs, capital investment, charitable donations, wealth creation, etc. and indirectly with countless hours of available speeches, interviews, & shareholder meetings. The world was better with hom in it.

In an age where everyone is their own media company and has something to sell it can be quite difficult to discern who to emulate.

Charlie never seemed to want the spotlight, berating us at The Daily Journal meeting for our cult like behavior as he did.

His wisdom was simple, but not easy to follow. At times along the way I’ve gotten confused in the application of his and Warren’s guidance or just not known how to implement. However, without their wisdom in mind, along with other sources of wisdom, I wouldn’t have progressed.

I’m grateful we all have someone to mourn so deeply.

Thanks for putting this together. Its a beautiful piece that encapsulates the essence of what we're all feeling right now.

I went to the AGM for the first time 2 years ago with the explicit reason being that I'd get to see my heroes in person before it was too late. It cannot be overstated how profoundly grateful I am to have gotten to see Munger before he passed away. I'm on day two of waterworks. Feels like losing a family member when you lose a hero who never let you down.

What a loss. I am grateful that he shared so much wisdom with us, and so we can pass it along.

Thank you for articulating so beautifully what so many of us are feeling at this moment.

I try to avoid hero worship, at least the worship part. But Charlie Munger was a hero.

A very respectful article. And so true. Like you I'm one of the many millions around the world he has influenced in a good way. A true living legend, now even more.

Mr Munger will be missed. Great piece RW.

Well said RW.

A man of very limited vision in the literal sense. And a man of tremendous vision in all other ways. It is difficult to be sad about the passing of someone I never met and someone who lived well into extra innings. And yet I am.

In my mentally assembled list of board of directors of my life....Charlie is definitely way up there as the chairman of the board. His mental clarity and pragmatic approach to life is extremely clarifying and useful during difficult times in my life. And to add he is also a very generous human being, can't remember which university it was but he bought a huge piece of land besides the university from a family that held it for decades and immediately donated it to the university the very next day. Such generosity and yet largely unknown to the public shows a man of such humility and the lack of the need to have his good deeds known to the world. Unreal act of selflessness. I'm just so full of admiration and respect for this man. May he rest in peace knowing the good he has contributed to this world will live on via his teachings and philanthropic contributions.

Great loss, to all of us. We even came to believe he was going to live past 100.
